Hi Tech and THE CAR THAT CHANGED THE WORLD
Prior to the Model T Ford, introduced in 1909, most people lived and died within a 50-mile radius of their birth.
The new Ford dramatically altered that.
The Model T Ford enhanced daily life of everyday people. On the farm it served as a power source to plow fields, cut firewood, power washing machines and carry produce, milk and livestock to market. Sunday mornings, the family would all pile in their Model T’s and go to church. Fire stations were giving up their horses in favor of the Model T. It would then be converted to firefighting apparatus. Doctors purchased coups as a means of transportation through rural America as they made their house calls. Salesmen favored Model T Roadsters because they were the least expensive of all Model T’. They would remove the turtle deck (trunk) and add a special box that would carry their samples, painting the box to advertise their products.
During the summer months, these same people would equip their car with a tent and appropriate camping equipment for a family vacation.
Relive those pioneering days of motoring history in Yosemite National Park. You will experience what it was like as you drive an original Model T Ford forging streams and driving through meadows. By the way, if modern cars are more to your liking, Yosemite T Tours also offers Model A Fords from 1928 to 1931, all with tops that fold down. For your lodging needs, stay at the Tin Lizzie Inn, a replica Victorian with all original hardware, lighting, marble sinks, stain glass windows and pull chain toilets from the 1800’s. The web sites are Driveamodelt.com and Tinlizzieinn.com or call (559) 641-7731 to find out how we can serve you.
Now is your chance to experience the feel of being part of history from behind the wheel of a Model “T” from the Tin Lizzie Inn. Stop by for a FREE Professional online picture of you inside the Model “T” or an immediate Professional 8x10 for purchase.
